A timber deck that fits the way you live.

A useful deck gives you room to sit, eat or move between the house and garden. Worn boards, an awkward step or a failing frame can make that space harder to use.

We build, repair and replace timber decks for Adelaide’s old and character homes. We consider the frame, boards, levels and finishing details together so the deck feels connected to the house.

Your project might involve a new deck, replacing failed boards or a more extensive rebuild. We inspect the existing structure and help you choose a scope and timber finish that suits the site and your budget.

Timber deck connecting a character home with its garden

Choose the timber, levels and frame together.

Decking timber choices affect appearance, upkeep and the way the boards weather. Consider sun exposure, how the space will be used and the maintenance you are comfortable with before choosing the material and finish.

Decking cost is also affected by height, framing, stairs, access and the condition of an existing deck. Replacing boards alone makes sense only when the frame and fixings are suitable to retain.

Plan water movement, ventilation around the old house and safe transitions at doors and steps. Send photos, approximate dimensions and details of any loose boards or movement so we can discuss repair, replacement or a new deck.

Hear What Our Clients Have To Say About Their Newly Renovated Homes

  • Ben and his team at Adelaide Heritage Renovations just completed a wonderful restoration of the ceiling and walls in the master bedroom of our 100 year old Beulah Park cottage. Two weeks ago the cornice fell off our old ceiling and the ceiling threatened to follow it. Everybody working for Ben was skilled, professional and friendly and we are extremely happy with the outcome. We will definitely be using them again.

    Michael Murray

  • Couldn’t speak more highly about this company. Friendly, professional and top draw throughout. We had to have our al fresco dining ceiling completely replaced and colour matched with new spot lights and speakers to go back in. Also installed our new fans to complete the job. Highly recommend Ben, and the team and will definitely have them back to do other work we need doing. Nice to find blokes you can trust to do a quality finish!

    James Stockton

  • Ben and his team recently replaced our old ceiling and they have done an excellent job. Very impressed with their professionalism and efficiency. Workers were all friendly and polite. They arrived on time and completed the work one day earlier than anticipated. On completion the ceiling was beautifully restored and renewed. Definitely recommend this company.

    Bernie Gibbons

  • We recently engaged Adelaide Heritage Renovations for a shed conversion and couldn’t be happier with the result. The team on site was friendly, professional, and showed an exceptional level of attention to detail throughout the entire build. What really stood out was the quality of construction and the thought that went into elements of the project that I hadn’t even considered, not being from the building industry myself. Their experience and guidance made a real difference. The finished product is of a very high standard, and the overall conversion has exceeded expectations. I would highly recommend Adelaide Heritage Renovations to anyone considering a similar project.

    Andrew G

    Lynne Hammond

  • I recently used the team at Adelaide Heritage Renovations for some work at home, a 100 + year old symmetrical villa. They were outstanding, not only with their knowledge on how to get the best result, but also how they treated the place whilst working these was amazing. Cleaned up after and were incredibly courteous. I would recommend these guys for all your home renovation work.

    Luke Richards

  • Far exceeded my expectations. The teams ability to resolve challenges along the way made the whole process easy and stress less

    Maria Vlassis

  • We recently had our lounge diner, kitchen, utility room and bathroom fully renovated by Ben and his team, and we honestly couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, their professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine care for our home were outstanding. Ben and his team were meticulous in every aspect of their work. Nothing was rushed, and every finish – from the tiling and cabinetry to the lighting and final touches – was completed to an exceptionally high standard. Their eye for detail truly shows in the finished spaces, which not only look beautiful but feel thoughtfully designed and expertly crafted. What really set them apart, though, was their friendliness and consideration throughout the project. They were always punctual, respectful of our home, and kept everything as clean and tidy as possible during the renovation. They communicated clearly at every stage, listened to our ideas, and offered helpful suggestions to ensure the best possible outcome. It’s rare to find a team that combines such skill, reliability, and genuine courtesy. We felt completely confident in their hands from day one. We would highly recommend Ben and his team to anyone considering a renovation – you won’t be disappointed

    Rachel Hartwell

  • Ben and the team were fantastic in coming in to fix up the mother's unit for sale including replacing sections of ceiling, repairing cracks and preparing surfaces, cornice work, some electrical and then painting throughout. They made the job easy to understand and made it clear what to expect and offered great advice from the outset. They did a great job in really good time and without any hassle, which was exactly what we were after.
