Refreshed the open library area
New finishes and a patterned carpet tile layout helped lift the main floor area and give the library a more contemporary learning-space feel.
A completed commercial renovation updating the library area at Mount Carmel College with brighter finishes, new surfaces and a more usable learning environment.
Project overview
This commercial project updated the library area at Mount Carmel College, creating a cleaner, brighter and more functional space for students and staff.
The renovation introduced a fresh interior finish across the open library area, with patterned carpet tiles, crisp wall finishes, glazed rooms, updated lighting and a curved timber-slat counter helping define the space without making it feel closed in.
School environments need to be practical, hard-wearing and easy to move through. The final result gives the library area a more modern feel while keeping it flexible enough for everyday learning, study and staff use. Thanks to Mount Carmel College for the opportunity to complete the update.
What we did
A school library has to support constant movement, changing group sizes and day-to-day wear. The renovation focused on making the area feel fresh while keeping it practical for a working campus.
New finishes and a patterned carpet tile layout helped lift the main floor area and give the library a more contemporary learning-space feel.
Glass partitions and doors define adjoining rooms while keeping visibility, daylight and connection across the library area.
The curved timber-slat counter adds warmth and structure to the space, balancing the practical commercial fitout with a more considered finish.
