Verandah Renovation, Adelaide

A traditional verandah renovation finished with detailed fretwork, decorative cladding and careful period detailing across the home's front elevation.

Project overview

A traditional verandah brought back with patience and precision.

This Adelaide verandah renovation was about restoring street appeal while respecting the home's original character. The finished verandah looks balanced and effortless from the street, but the detailing behind that result took careful planning and a steady hand.

The hardest part was the fretwork and decorative cladding. More than 1500 individual pieces had to be carefully installed, aligned and finished so the verandah would read as one continuous traditional detail rather than a collection of separate parts.

The completed work gives the home a stronger entry, sharper period presence and a finish that suits the stone facade, front garden and existing architectural proportions. It is the kind of verandah detail that only works when every small piece is treated properly.

What we did

Detailed verandah work with a traditional finish.

A verandah like this depends on small details being installed consistently. The decorative elements need to suit the home, sit square and hold up as part of the front elevation.

Installed detailed fretwork

The verandah fretwork was carefully set out and installed to restore the traditional rhythm and decorative character of the facade.

Completed decorative cladding

More than 1500 individual pieces were placed with attention to alignment, spacing and finish so the completed detail felt cohesive.

Improved the street presence

The finished verandah strengthens the home's entry, frames the front door and gives the whole elevation a more complete heritage feel.
